Trek through one of the deepest canyons of the world on an exciting two-day excursion from Arequipa.The Colca Canyon is home of the Andean Condor. These giant birds can be seen at close range as they fly past the canyon walls. During the trip we will also visit an intriguing wildlife reserve to encounter diverse species of andean animals and admire the beautiful colonial architecture of two highland villages. Walk on the base of a colossal volcano and admire spectacular views of Peru’s stunning scenery during this enriching experience.

Day 1: Arequipa – Cabanaconde – San Juan De Chuccho – San Galle

We will leave Arequipa very early in the morning, at approximately 3:00am, by bus to Chivay (Cabanaconde). We will arrive at Cabanaconde at around 9.00am for breakfast and a break before preparing ourselves for the beginning of the trek. The first portion of the trail leads us down into the Colca Canyon, descending for approximately 3 hours. We then will arrive at a beautiful place called San Juan de Chuccho where we will take a rest and have lunch. After lunch we will continue walking for another 3 hours towards the oasis at San Galle. Along the way we will visit the traditional villages of Coshñirhua and Malata and arrive at San Galle in the afternoon. Here the guide will prepare your dinner and the night will be spent in rustic but comfortable cabins.

Day 2: San Galle – Cabanaconde – Cruz Del Condor - Arequipa

We wake up very early to begin our ascent at around 4:00 AM towards Cabanaconde, which will take a few hours of trekking steeply uphill. Arriving to Cabanaconde we will have a rest and then go by bus to the Cruz del Condor to see the flight of the Condor. Continuing onwards to Chivay we will stop for approximately 2 hours so that you can visit the hot springs and/or the local market. After this we will set off for Arequipa where we will arrive at approximately 5:00pm.
