Its galleries houses a great array of ceramics, textiles, metal works, organic material and mummy bundles, spanning the entire history of human occupation in Peru. Some of the most important legacies at the museum are the monoliths, where standout the famous Estela of Raimondi, a perfect carved block of stone, representing an ancient god bearing a walking stick and the Tello Obelisk, which portrays the old divinity of the Chavin Temple. According to archaeologists, these carving monuments date back from 1000 BC.
